 Note from Editors of RJES Volume 5 Number 2
Dear RJES Readers,


     We have finally come to another year end’s RJES Volume 5 Number 2 to our great satisfaction. For this volume, we have got enthusiastic responses from our kind authors from various institutions, who we believe realize the value of RJES contributions in the education circle. Thanks to all who support the journal and since the year 2019 is just around the corner, may we wish you all longevity, prosperity and success in everything you do.
     In this volume, you will enjoy reading six research reports and a reflective essay. The first paper is an attempt to develop English critical reading abilities of English majors using the QUEST Analysis by Netnapa Suaysee and Patteera Thienpermpool. Certainly, critical reading abilities are listed as one essential skill for the 21st Century and if our students can do that with English, we as teachers can be sure of their graceful survival in rapidly the changing world. The second deals with a topic intensively explored by educators and in this issue by Darrin Thomas is blended learning, which is believed to help move us into the real student-centred approach. The third article is entitled Integration of Literary Studies to Develop Business English’ Major Thinking Skills by Amporn Srisermbhok. It would be interesting to find out how the two areas that seem different-literature and business- could be harmoniously utilized in teaching. Another research report by Sherub Gyeltshen and Nipaporn Chalermnirundon is still on teaching reading in Bhutanese History with the use of K.W. L Model. It is found that this technique employed in the case study is effective. Next is a report on the study of the relationship between principals’ leadership and teachers’ self-efficacy by Hareesol Khun-inkeeree, Anies Aziera Ahmad and Fatimah Noor Rashidah MohdZofian. Undoubtedly, the findings show that a school principal must demonstrate his/her instructional leadership to encourage staff academically. Finally, from Ho Thi Hong Van, Le Ngoc Hoan and Dinh Quang Bao, the readers will learn about what is happening in a science class in a Vietnamese school where STEM has played an important role.
     To add the flavor to RJES, Jonah Kadish shares his professional reflection with us on “The Benefits of Experiential Learning for Corporate and Academic Education”. He confirms what Kolb has seriously claimed, “Knowledge is created through transformation of experience.” I also agree with him. This is probably the reason why we teachers are asked to also value “Learning by Doing”.
